The Selection Committee for Audit Committee Candidates of Universitas Sumatera Utara for the 2025–2030 term, chaired by Prof. Dr. Erman Munir, M.Sc., has completed its duties. The USU Board of Trustees has selected and appointed the Chair, Secretary, and Members of the USU Audit Committee for the 2025–2030 term at the MWA Meeting on 19 August 2025, and confirmed the appointments through MWA USU Decree Number 6/UN5.1.MWA/SK/TP.00.00/2025. The appointment was followed by a handover of duties from the 2021–2025 Audit Committee to the new Audit Committee, marking the official commencement of duty, held at the Secretariat of the USU Board of Trustees on Thursday, 21 August 2025.
The handover ceremony was attended by the MWA Secretary Prof. Dr. Tamrin, M.Sc, USU Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos, M.Si, Vice Rector II Dr. Muhammad Arifin Nasution, S.Sos., M.SP, and other MWA members. The Chair of the USU Audit Committee for 2025–2030 is Dr. H. Kaswinata, SE, Ak, CA, MSP, assisted by Syarief Fauzie, SE, M.Ak, Ak, CA, CPA as Secretary. The other three members are Riva Ubar Harahap, SE, Ak, M.Si, CA, CPA, Yusrin, SH, M.Hum, and Dr. Syarifah Lisa Andriati, SH, M.Hum.

The Chair of the USU Board of Trustees, General (Ret.) Drs. Agus Andrianto, SH, MH, in remarks delivered by the MWA Secretary Prof. Dr. Tamrin, M.Sc, expressed profound thanks, appreciation, and highest recognition to the 2021–2025 Audit Committee for their excellent work and remarkable dedication in supporting USU.
“I extend my deepest gratitude to the USU Audit Committee for their outstanding work for the 2021–2025 term. I also congratulate the ladies and gentlemen selected for the 2025–2030 USU Audit Committee, and I hope we can work well together to support USU under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin. We must work earnestly and serve well, fostering cooperation between the Audit Committee and the MWA, as well as between the MWA and the executive, so that our hopes for the future—making USU our shared pride—can be realized,” said Prof. Tamrin.

In his remarks at the event, the USU Rector expressed gratitude to the MWA for conducting the selection of the Audit Committee as mandated by the Statute.“I thank the 2021–2025 Audit Committee for working well and collaborating with the MWA and the executive in carrying out its duties, including exercising oversight and providing constructive advice on university governance. To the new Audit Committee, I hope we can all work together well, given the many things we will undertake going forward to develop USU further,” the Rector stated.
The Chair of the 2021–2025 Audit Committee, Drs. Ardian, MM, CFE, QIA, CA, Ak, expressed gratitude to God Almighty upon completing the committee’s term. “From the beginning of our term, the Audit Committee committed to upholding integrity, objectivity, and independence in carrying out all mandated tasks. This commitment must continue to be upheld by the next Audit Committee, particularly in continuing unfinished work from the previous term—namely, fulfilling the duties and control functions toward achieving good university governance.”
The Chair of the 2025–2030 Audit Committee, Dr. H. Kaswinata, SE, Ak, CA, MSP, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him to serve as Chair.
“As the new Chair of the USU Audit Committee, I pledge to continue improving the performance of this body and to deliver greater benefits for USU. Together, the USU Audit Committee will work hard to achieve USU’s goals, vision, and mission, thereby attaining world-class university status and realizing good university governance within USU. We hope that all parties will assist and support the Audit Committee in carrying out its duties as they should,” he said optimistically. (RJ)
