Based on the decision of the Board of Trustees (MWA) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) dated December 3, 2020, Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., was appointed as the Rector of USU for the 2021–2026 term.
The inauguration ceremony took place on January 28, 2021, and was officiated by the Chairperson of the USU Board of Trustees. The event was held at the Auditorium, 2nd Floor, Building D, Ministry of Education and Culture Complex, Jl. Jenderal Sudirman, Gate 1, Senayan, Central Jakarta.
Several MWA members attended the inauguration, along with key figures, including the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, the Director-General of Higher Education, and guests from within and outside the university.
