The primary agenda of the session was the discussion and formal approval of USU's 2024 Annual Report, which reflects the university's achievements and strategic development directions throughout the past year.
The meeting was chaired directly by MWA Chairperson, Retired Police General Drs. Agus Andrianto, SH, MH, who also serves as Minister of Immigration and Correctional Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. In his opening statement, he emphasized that university governance should adhere to administrative compliance and continuously foster innovation and real contributions to society.
"The annual report represents the collective efforts of the entire university. By approving this report, we reaffirm our shared commitment to moving forward, ensuring accountability, and strengthening USU's competitiveness as a top-tier university," stated Agus Andrianto during the session.
The Plenary Meeting also included site visits to several of the university's strategic assets, including the UMKM Square Collaboration Building construction site. This facility is envisioned as a hub for innovation, training, and marketing of local MSME products, equipped with modern features to foster entrepreneurship within the university ecosystem.
During the visit, the MWA Chairperson and university leadership reviewed the construction progress, ensuring that the project aligned with its timeline and objectives. UMKM Square is expected to bridge academia and society while serving as a tangible platform for students and alumni to cultivate entrepreneurial potential.
"May today's activities mark a positive step for all of us to remain consistent in nurturing an excellent and accomplished generation through quality education and to continue contributing meaningfully to the advancement of North Sumatra," added Agus Andrianto.
MWA members, university leaders, and other key stakeholders attended the meeting, reinforcing synergy and collaboration in formulating USU's long-term development strategies.
