MEDAN – USU PR: The Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Prof. Dr. Runtung Sitepu, S.H., M.Hum., expressed hope that the USU Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM USU) would become a referral center for dental and oral healthcare in North Sumatra. He made this statement during the inauguration and official handover ceremony of the RSGM USU building on Wednesday (09/09/2020).
The ceremony, held with strict adherence to health protocols, was attended by Secretary of the USU Board of Trustees (MWA) Prof. Dr. Guslihan Dasatjipta; Vice Rector II Prof. Dr. dr. The Rector emphasized that RSGM USU not only serves USU’s internal community and functions as a training center for dental co-assistant students but is also open to the general public. The inauguration was marked by the Rector's signing of the dedication plaque, accompanied by the MWA Secretary. “I hope all RSGM USU staff will be friendly and smile when delivering services. This will make patients feel comfortable and help our hospital grow. Ultimately, it is for our shared future. Provide the best service with sincerity, because helping others never brings loss,” said the Rector.
The presence of RSGM as an educational center is also intended to ease the burden of students who previously had to do clinical rotations at other hospitals. RSGM USU accepts BPJS (national health insurance) patients, aligning with public demand. Executive-class facilities have also been prepared. “Although it is still new, I believe the quality of service will be excellent. We are proud that USU Hospital is now a five-star facility with 200 beds, soon to be expanded to 500 beds. Hopefully, RSGM can follow this achievement,” stated Prof. Runtung.
Meanwhile, the Director of RSGM USU, drg. Cek Dara Manja, Sp.RKG explained that the hospital is already equipped with an emergency department and a comfortable building, essential prerequisites for any hospital. “We hope the completed renovations can soon be fully operational and benefit all of us,” she concluded.
